Crazy Patchwork Class with Julia Vazey - Retreat 2015
Our retreat “The Best Kept Secret in the Waikato” will take place from Friday, 17th July until Sunday, 19th July 2015 at the Hillside Hotel in the Taupiri Ranges, Waikato.
We expect this weekend to be relaxing for you and a mid-winter get away with like minded people. It will be a chance for you to meet new friends but also to learn a new skill. The food looks superb, the rooms are comfortable, and the view is splendid.
Julia Vazey has become an expert in Crazy Patch and will have many samples to show you. Your first part of the Saturday will be creating your basic block and then the fun begins as you get to embellish and embroider your block.
We will have lots of bits and pieces you can use — like charms, lace, threads, motifs etc. You will purchase a basic kit to begin with which will have all the fabrics etc. There will be four colour choices — Creams, Brights, Red & Caramel or Black & White.
Julia will show you what she has made with her Crazy Patch blocks but you can also carry on making similar blocks at home and create an heirloom type quilt.
We also offer a Wool Appliqué Class with Ngaire Brooks, or you can bring your own thing to work on without a tutor present in our UFO (unfinished objects) class.
