The history of red and white quilts goes back many centuries. Turkey red took it's name from carpets made in Turkey, but the dye process began in India in the mid 1650's. In just a few decades the process had spread and factories sprang up in Turkey, Persia etc. Women began making two colour quilts using Turkey red and even today who doesn't like a red and white quilt. This book has 12 traditional red and white quilts. The author has drafted up patterns for us to reproduce them today. You can make a wall hanging or full sized quilts. 95 pages.
