Hill Country Heritage
This quilt designed by Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison features a vertical row setting, with a wide centre row of 10" blocks flanked on either side by two rows of 5" blocks and sashing from the border stripe. Both traditional and triangle paper methods are used to create the quilt.
Paula Barnes designed the fabrics for this quilt and took her inspiration for this collection from an elegant antique border stripe. She adapted the original design so it could be creatively cut for both the vertical sashing and outside border. Rich in blues, reds, browns and creams, the antique swatch provided the colour palette for the fabric collection. Prints in indigo to cadet blue, madder to Turkey red, soft creams and rich browns complement the historical border stripe.
