Grandmother’s Garden Challenge 2018
We love the challenge fabric we have chosen, produced by Nutex in Auckland. It is true Kiwiana with all the flora, fauna and sea life of our beautiful country. So here is a chance for you to create a true New Zealand quilt.
The rules are simple: Purchase a minimum of one metre of the Challenge fabric from us and request the Entry Form/Rules to be included. Create a beautiful quilt - no more than 60” square. You can piece, appliqué, embroider, glue, nail - whatever! Send it to us by January 31st, 2018 along with a courier post bag for its return safely to you. This Challenge is for New Zealand participants only!
There are two categories to choose from:
Novice (for the beginner quilter, all ages)
Open (all stages and ages)
Our judges will choose an overall winning quilt and a winning quilt in each category. The overall winner will be given $300.00 in cash. Each category winner will be given a basket full of patchwork and quilting goodies. Judging will take place early in February. We’ll think about an exhibition sometime in February here at the shop but we will have plenty of photos for those of you who can’t come to visit. You can purchase the Challenge fabric from our website. Please make sure to request the Entry Form for the Challenge in the Special Instructions upon checkout.
