Grandmother's Garden Grandmother's Garden
The Civil War Sewing Circle by Kathleen Tracy (Book) DISCONTINUED preview

The author has given us a lovely combination of old photographs, eloquent excerpts from letters and 16 easy projects from the Civil War era, including large and small quilts - a quilt for a soldiers cot for example. There are other smaller items like a letter holder and a needlecase. Sewing circles were of course very popular in those days as women stitched quilts for the men who were away fighting and trying to hold the Union together. It's a nice book.
