Thread Painting with Kelly Duncan
We are excited to introduce Kelly Duncan and Thread Painting! In this class you will be creating a thread painted Pukeko on a painted background.
The class begins at 8.30am on Saturday, 11th May and doesn’t finish until 5pm. So there is a lot of work to get through on the first day. Day 2, Sunday, 12th May will be from 9am - 4pm. The cost for this class is NZ$174.00 for the tuition fee and the starter kit. The starter kit will include the duck fabric (heavy) for background, stabilizer and the Pukeko template for tracing.
There is quite a bit of preparation to do at home, especially if you are going to paint your background. Kelly has a couple of very good YouTube videos which will help you with this.

You will also have to trace the outline of the bird onto your background fabric at home and a lightbox will help with that. We have a lightbox set up in the shop which you can use but this must be done before you arrive for class.
We are limiting this class to eight people so please register now if this is something you have always wanted to learn and we'll send out your requirement list as you need things like textile ink but this is available from places like The Warehouse Stationary. We'll also send you the kit required for the class so you can get started on your homework.
